The days go by
We all take a bow
The curtains
Untether a wall
Between us
And the world
The clock ages
Its heartbeat
Diluted
In the mix
Of the world’s comotion
There lies no connection
Unheeded
It snivels
But no one can hear it
Neglected
It disintegrates
In a matter of seconds
And in its silence
It echoes
In the large house
And every once in a while
The hands revert to its position
It is almost as if
It’s reliving an old memory
Concocting an old story
Recounting its steps
Its heartbeat
Awakened
By nostalgia’s
Fingertips
