2020 theme: 'Change'

Currently accepting:

• Nonfiction: Articles, Essays, Opinion pieces, Interviews, Reviews and Recommendations, Biographies, Memoirs.(All 2,500 words max.)

• Fiction: Short stories/novel excerpts (5,000 words absolute max.), Flash Fiction (Anything less than 1,000 words), One-Act Plays (12 pages max.), 

• Poetry: No longer than 100 lines per poem; you are welcome to submit up to six poems in the same submission.

• Visual Arts: All mediums (inc. photography and sculpture) - please submit the images of your work as jpeg, png or tif, 300dpi.

• Other: E.g. Podcast, App, Short Film etc. If you think whatever you have produced is appropriate to be featured on our website, you could submit in an article explaining the reasons behind your work/a brief overview of it with the product linked to be considered - it would be great for your work’s publicity if accepted.

 

Along with the submission of your work, please include your name, and age. If applicable, it would be amazing if you could also send in a written reflection/artist’s statement to help us better understand your piece. (Max. 250 words)

Entries are accepted from anywhere in the world, even if we're based in Thailand!

 

Our theme of ‘change’ really does not need to be central to your work - think of it as more of a source of inspiration: it only has to be related in some way.

 

12-point legible font (eg Times New Roman) for all word documents.

 

If applicable, include a bibliography (any style) crediting sources and citing any ideas, facts, quotes, or existing media used in your work that are not your own.

 

We do not accept previously published work.

 

Age limit: 13-21 years old

Deadline: 15th July 2020 23:59

 

If your work is selected, all we ask for is first serial print and electronic rights - after first publication you retain all the rights to your work. We only ask that you credit Thai Youth Express as the place your work first appeared.

 

Please expect a confirmation email for your submission within 1-2 subsequent business days - we will inform you about the result of your entry by the end of July.
