This contest is open to young women in grades 10 and 11 (15-17). Students are invited to submit up to two poems to be eligible to win a grand prize of $350, free housing, tuition, and admission to a summer creative writing program at Hollins University, and publication in Cargoes, our award-winning student literary magazine. The second place winner will also receive a publication in Cargoes, a $4500 scholarship to apply towards the university's summer creative writing program, and two copies of Cargoes itself.
