New Millennium Writings is an award-winning literary journal, and for this competition you can submit:
" Fiction (all types welcome) - 7,499 words or less
" Nonfiction (all types welcome) - 7,499 words or less
" Flash Fiction (aka: Short-Short Fiction) - 1,000 words or less
" Poetry - each entry may include three poems, up to five pages total.
Work is anonymously judged so your submission file should not contain your personal details. There are absolutely no restrictions on style or subject matter. Multiple submissions welcome.
Prizes:
- First Place in each category receives a $1000 cash prize, an award plaque to document the success, publication online and in print, in New Millennium Writings, and two complimentary copies.
- Select Finalists, and all Poetry Finalists (20 entries), receive publication in New Millennium Writings' annual print anthology and receive two complimentary copies.
- Litteratura Influentia Award recipients are chosen by NMW's leadership team and will receive a custom award plaque (or medallion) to document the success, publication online and in print, in New Millennium Writings, and two complimentary copies. Serious consideration begins only after all First Place award recipients have been finalized and confirmed.
- New Millennium New Writer Award recipients are chosen by NMW's leadership team and will receive a custom award plaque (or medallion) to document the success, publication online and in print, in New Millennium Writings, and two complimentary copies. Serious consideration begins only after all First Place award recipients have been finalized and confirmed. *** "New Writer" is defined as a) has never won a First Place writing award and b) has not yet published a full-length book.
- Finalists, Twenty (20) from each Award category (80 in total)
- Honourable Mentions, Fifteen (15) from each Award category (60 in total)

If you are simply looking into getting published and want a prompt for whatever you are going to write, look into submitting your work into New Millennium Writings' monthly magazine 'Musepaper'. The submission fee is $15, and the top 3 from the monthly competition will be published into the magazine, as well as into a special print anthology.
